Alarm door lock while car running

Happy New Year everyone.. or at least try to be happy. *sing* "don't worry.... be happy".

Ok ok.. on to the topic/problem/issue. Please don't flame me if this topic is hidden in other thread/s that I wasn't able to find (aka I did use the search).

I warming up my car and using another remote key to lock the door but it doesn't lock. I had to physically stick the key into the lock and lock the door... and unlock the door when I was ready to leave.

Does this function the same with yours? I'm talking about OEM alarm of cause. But I wouldn't call it alarm since it doesn't go off like other regular annoying alarms.

Your car is mulfunctioning, send it to me.

Remote keyless doesn't work when the key is in the ignition or when the engine is running.

Happy new year to you too.

It is to keep you from lock the keys in the car with it in the ignition, the remote functions are disabled when the key reminder signal is input to the keyless entry ECU.

Yes, I accidentally forgot the key in the car after I started it and close the door tightly and press another remote to lock the car.

O well.. adding this to the list of reasons to replace this alarm.

Thanks.

Hey guys, how do I lock and unlock my car? How do you use the remote? I'm confused.

I searched, but nothing comes up.
