03, 4 cyl, tensioner pulley

My accessory belt tensioner is making a squeaking noise when cold (noise goes away when the engine is warm). Sounds like the bearing on the pulley is going. I went to NAPA and they only have the entire tensioner assy for around $200.

My question is, has anyone replaced only the pulley (with bearing) on the tensioner, and if so what was the make and part number?

Thanks
Tony

you have to replace the whole tensioner assembly...its not the tensioner pulley that goes bad, its the whole tensioner....theres a TSB out on it, and im sure youll find it with a quick search

i replaced my tensioner and belt last year for the same concern, and its been fine ever since

CorCamrySE,
Thank you for your reply. I should have mentioned this in my original post. In July of 2006 the tensioner assy was replaced by Toyota under warranty according to TSB EG040-04.

The same noise is back. It sounds very much the same as a bearing going bad. That is why I wanted to try to replace the pulley first.
