Viper 791xv security system on 2009 Camry w/ a chip key.

I am considering installing a Viper 792XV system on my 09 camry LE, I bought it used, and it only has a key (no remote). I am considering installing this, because the price of the system is cheaper than the factory remote, plus I would get a great remote starter/security system for the same price.

The problem I have is with the chip in the key, can that be bypassed by the system to start the car? I had this installed in my 2004 Celica, but it didnt' have a chip key so it wasn't an issue.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, that will work with transponder key system, but you need another key with transponder for it to work.

Depending on which Transponder, a key is not required. I had my transponder installed and didnt give up any key. The transponder will generate code/trick the ECU to think there is a key in the ignition.
