5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
i have a 2008 Se v6 camry. it has 17,000 miles on it, and the gas pedal sometimes feels real hard to push down. it doesnt always do this. it doesn't hinder the cars performance towards the acceleration, but its just a pain when your foot starts to hurts from pushing the gas pedal. my question is do i need to take it in to toyota and have them look at it? has anyone else here had this same problem?
theres no physical connection between your foot and the butterfly plate in the throttle body. Your car is equipped with DBW (drive by wire) So it has to be a problem with the accelerator, or the floor mats like everyones saying.

FYI i just installed the Alpine IVA W505 double din screen in the camry today. if anyone needs any stereo equipment, i can get it all brand new with factory warranty.
so i moved the top floor mat away from the pedal and no more hard pedal to push down. thanks everyone for help
how many floor mats do you need? i've driven for longer than I care to admit and i've never had the notion of adding extra floor mats on top of the existing floor mats.
Get the Toyota OEM or other custom cut floor mats, they have cut-outs for the gas pedal.
BTW, I'm thinking about getting the Weather Tech floor liners, anyone has 'em? How are they?
I am wondering how good they are also. I want to get the laser cut ones which are constructed specifically to your interior, but they are stupid expensive!

Are you referrin to the weathertech ones? I dont have them but i have seen pics and i would say they look like they have more coverage than oem mats do!
