Gen6 gas pedal hard to push

i have a 2008 Se v6 camry. it has 17,000 miles on it, and the gas pedal sometimes feels real hard to push down. it doesnt always do this. it doesn't hinder the cars performance towards the acceleration, but its just a pain when your foot starts to hurts from pushing the gas pedal. my question is do i need to take it in to toyota and have them look at it? has anyone else here had this same problem?

thanks justin

Do you have a loose floor mat that has slid forward under the pedals?

Get the Toyota OEM or other custom cut floor mats, they have cut-outs for the gas pedal.

BTW, I'm thinking about getting the Weather Tech floor liners, anyone has 'em? How are they?

theres no physical connection between your foot and the butterfly plate in the throttle body. Your car is equipped with DBW (drive by wire) So it has to be a problem with the accelerator, or the floor mats like everyones saying.

how many floor mats do you need? i've driven for longer than I care to admit and i've never had the notion of adding extra floor mats on top of the existing floor mats.

I am wondering how good they are also. I want to get the laser cut ones which are constructed specifically to your interior, but they are stupid expensive!

yea these are the ones I want but are way too expensive:
http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvp...=639&Year=2005

They supposedly cover every area of your floor and there is even some type of drainage system too lol
