2003 Camry Fog Light installation

I have a 2003 Camry, I''m wanting to put in some OEM fog lights. My Camry didn''t come with factory fog lights, however, it does have a place in the front bumper for fog lights, my question is how would I install the new fog lights, I''m assuming that I would use a dremel tool, and just cut out the location of where the fog lights would go, would I need any type of special mounting brackets for the lights, I know that the new lights comes with mounting brackets, but should my car come with factory brackets. Is it possible to install fog lights on my Camry, has anyone done this with there Camry?

Thanks for the reply carlo, I see what you did to your Camry, with my Camry, I'm going to use an in-line fuse relay for my HID fog lights, and njerald, I have used the search function, and could not find any post specifically dealing with someone having to cut the fog light holes out of the front bumper and having to come up with a mounting option, but if you find one feel free to let me know.

at HID fog lights...

If you really insist on putting HID's in your fogs, please aim them down..

same here

hello
i also have 2003 camry le and want to install the OEM fog light..just like you..
well i did the research and found out that, the ones without the pop were the ones made in us...so we have to change the bumper or cut out the whole.. i'm going to buy the fog light set from the ebay, which will cost roughly about $50.. now.......... i'm stuck...lol

i didnt buy the fog lights yet because i'm not willing to pay more than 100 to have this installation and i still have no clue if it will go over $100..

so the process of this installtion is...(my total guess with no clues on electric parts of the car..this will be my first mod lol)

1. buy the set of fog light
2. cut of the wholes
3. all the crazy electric parts.. (need serious help on this)
4. mount the bracket (no clues on this either... will the factory bumper have the bracket??..)
5. enjoy the new look..

number 2,3,4 are the biggies..
well for number 2, i'm not even sure what i'm going to do, i have no tools..
3..is the hardest of all.. even if we have the pre-wired plugs, which i'm not sure for 2003 camry without the holes or pop.. i know that i have to wire the whole thing using the kit comes from ebay.. from this point, i have no clue, like the wiring part and all this plug things...
lastly 4, i'm not sure how and where to get this bracket...

So... this is where i'm standing after few days of reserching...
the corolla forum kinda help me out more than camry forum...

Sorry for the LONG post...
but please please can someone help me one this mod????
and the cost too..

thank you

and dude247, do you made any progress??
i think it would be awesome if we perform this mod in close or same time to help each other out...

I've been where you are dkfhsqkr, lol. But I've bought my fog lights from ebay, here's the link to where I bought mine, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...18283&viewitem=. So I've done your 1., as for 2., I haven't done that yet either, I'm waiting to get my lights and HID kit in, but the hard part isn't cutting the holes, it is the mounting. I've been all over the web trying to come up with a solution, I'm thinking about some type of mounting bracket, but need to see what the lights mounts come with. As far as your 3., that's not hard at all, the lights come with wiring harness, you plug the harness to the fog light bulbs, then it goes to your battery, poss and neg terminals, then you run the switch wire through your fire wall, just poke a hole in the rubber boot of your steering column, and mount the switch to turn on the fog lights where ever you want.

I should be doing my installation either this week or next week, I'm all for documenting with pics and sharing them with you, and if I find any other helpful tips, I'll pass them on...

Well there you go dkfhsqkr, as usual, a DICK (MrSo0h0o) usually points the way, but hey thanks for doing my foot work, and tell your sister in the picture with you not to stay out to late with you tonight, it's a school night.

sounds very good.. i will buy the same exact kit from the same person to make it easier..if i order mine this week, i will probably going to get the kit by next week..

so basically, mounting is our biggest opponent..
it might be a silly thought, but maybe, there might be a glue or silicon
that will hold the light into the bumper?? sounds little unrealistic to me, but might be a option..

That's cool, I should get my lights soon. I spoke with a friend who works at a body shop about what would be the best epoxy to use, he said to get any 2 part epoxy, with at least a 5 min drying time, but the longer the drying time the better, and not to use JB weld, it will eventually fall off.

What year model do you have, I have a 2003 2.4L with a 2AZ-FE engine, it also is an American made, not Japan. Also, earlier today, when I was remounting my HID ballast, I noticed that my car "is" pre-wired for fog lights, I just don't have the pre-cut out slots on my bumper, if your Camry is the same then that's one less thing you'll have to do.

I found these sites that are pretty helpful, on this one, www.toyodyi.com all you have to do is type in your VIN and it'll pull up all of you cars diagrams, with the OEM part numbers, and it's a free site.

And on this one, www.camrystuff.com you just click on the generation Camry that you have, and you can view or download a manuel that shows how to do everything, including how to remove the front bumper, and it's a free site, so check them out.

i'm in my computer class right now so i will make it short..

according to my research the pre-wired thing on the car is not going to work with aftermarket oem fog light... if you wanna use that then you have to buy light stock and some other stuff..(can be found in many other forums using the search button) i might be wrong though...lol

i will do more research about epoxy and other things after school and reply with better answer.. sorry if i'm not helping you...

oh i have same model as yours.. 2003 4cyl.. it seems like 2003 is the only with uncut bumper...

I got my fog lights in, they look and work great. Your right about the pre-wiring not working, I hooked up the fog lights to the socket and they wouldn't come on, but the bulb is the same as my head lights, I called a Toyota dealership and talked to a guy, and he said what I figured from reading some other post here, that since the car didn't come with headlights that in order to make them come on with my head lights, I'd have to install the relay that came with the kit, and buy the plugs and other stuff. But since I have HIDs, and going to use an in-line fuse relay, I don't need the other stuff, since my HID kit and fuse relay kit comes with all that I need to make the fog lights come on with my head lights. While I wait for my HID to come in, which should be this week, I'm going to see if I can use the fog lights and try to make a template, so I'll know exactly where to cut my bumper right the first time.

I can attest that MrSo0h0o is not a dick. He was just saying be polite about using such bright lights.

By the way you overreacted, you made yourself look like one yourself.

And good luck on cutting the bumper. You've got more balls than I do.
