5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
so this is the story, after about 10 months of driving the brand new 2008 camry se v6 out of the dealership, i put on about 13000 miles to the car. my front tires had worn out, so i decided to switch both the rear tires to the front. after the switch i notices that my steering wheel is not straight when i drive on a straight road, and the steering wheel turns more to the left when drive on a straight road (it is so obvious for me to know it because i drive on the same road everyday to get to my job site). so i bring the car to the dealership to get an alighnment. i did not wait for the car but come back and pick up when it was finish. when i check the work order , it said that the technician swapped front tires, stillpulling, took right front tire off and flipped, still pulled, and so the tech check the alignment and found front and rear tow out.
but even after the alignment was done on the car, the steering wheel is still not straight on a straight road and it is still tilted to the left more.
so my question is that if the alignment was already done to the car why is the steering wheel is still not straight? does anyone have this problem? PLEASE HELP.
*sorry if the information hard to understand and excuse my english*

I am in the same boat you are in....I think its the road
It's possible to have a vehicle aligned, but the steering wheel isn't straight. It's shoddy work from the technician who aligned it....... Your suspension should be fine, they didn't take a few extra minutes to make it look right.
Keep an eye on your tire wear. Also find a smooth, straight piece of road (not in heavy traffic). Be sure the car is going straight(even though your steering wheel may not be). Put the vehicle in neutral or push in the clutch and let it coast (hands just barely off the wheel). If it's going in a straight line you are most likely OK.
Some roads are high in the center which will cause the car to slightly steer towards the shoulder. Any bumps or dips in the road will steer the car for you.
post up your alignment specs they should have given you.a pull is usually do to camber/caster and also going be radial pull from the tires or from worn suspension parts.but since the car is new im guessing nothings worn.if it happened mostly when you rotated the tires id be guessing its the tires because it wouldnt change the alignment.but post the specs and i could tell you if its from camber/caster.some technicians just make it in spec but they dont consider other factors like the differences of the camber/caster.since caster is none adjustable on your car they should match camber difference to the caster difference.

Your English is fine. Just from a coastal parish, eh? Once a tire is worn out of round it may never drive true again and you might need new tires. Centering the steering wheel is done when the alignment is done. Stay away from those guys near you and take it to another dealer/city to get it done again. Drive the length of the parking lot and you will know if it close or not.
