Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So I just brought a new 09 camry about two weeks ago and am in the process for getting it insured to buy a tag and all that. The vin number I give to my insurance agent says that the car is an 08.
From what i can tell, there is no visible difference between the 08 and 09 is there? If they really sold me an 08 as an 09 I'm definitely going to press that they give me a new 09 xle fully loaded or something!
Anyway, what do you guys think? Does this ever happen?
What does the window sticker say? Have you tried typing your VIN number into Google and see what Carfax says about the car? Have you looked through all the paperwork you signed when you bought it? I'm guessing you bought an 08 and everything will match up.

Talk to the dealer first to see if they will take care of the problem to your satisfaction. If that fails get a lawyer. It sounds to me like your sales person was an idiot.
well this is good news for me I suppose. I think I'm going to buy another 09 Camry XLE from them for a very reduced price. If not I guess I could try to upgrade my CE to a XLE.

Have you talked to them about it? or is that your idea? There was someone on this forum who bought a truck that was in a accident sold as new. The dealership was pretty worried it seemed like when he mentioned it. You should probably get some type of deal from them. Good Luck with the process
