Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
On my '05 Camry LE, the only lights that I haven't done anything w/is the high beam/DRL. Partly b/c I had spent so much on changing all the other lights & that I finally got the LED signal lights to work properly & that I couldn't find anything to put on. Now, I stumbled across these, they're LED DRL conversion kit. Here's the link to the lights...9005 HID White DRL Upgrade Kit. I've got a few questions about these though, maybe one of you guys know.
1) Is the module really necessary?
2) I always thought LED's were brighter but just more focused, would these really be able to provide the right brightness for the high beams. The stock ones go past the HID's, but being that these are more focused, would they improve the distance or would I just be able to see a whiter light.
3) Finally, do you guys think it's a good price, is it worth it, etc...
Tell me what you think, once I figure these you & whether I'll do it or not, then I'll look @ window tints or some thing, but for now, I'm just gonna worry about this.
I know that the DRL's are just the driving lights, but my high beams are in the same bulbs as the DRL's. My question is, since LED's are focused, would they really be able to work as high beams & would they really be brighter, I have no doubt that they'll be much whiter.
No, I mean that I usually use my HID's while I drive, but whenever I turn on my High beams, they are bright, but dull looking. So, I want to get these to spice it up a bit, & in the day time, i can use the DRL's & they could look nice, & whenever I put on the high beams, they'll took nice as well, I hope.

Yes, it will look nice to oncoming cars at night but you won't be able to see where you're going when you are driving with close to zero output high beams.
why not keep the DLR/high beams, and add LED's into the headlamp and disable the DLR's and have the LED's on a different switch...

I asked their customer service team & they said that they wouldn't work as high-beams, but he said that they may have a low-voltage DRL solution. Let's see what they have to offer, I'll keep you guys posted
I'm sorry, I typed that wrong, I just edited it. He said they won't work as high beams. He was saying that they might have a low-voltage DRL solution. Let's see if they can work as high beams as well. Again, I apologize, that was my mistake.
check out my sig...i have leds in my drl/high beam. they are just for looks...output isnt made for high beam. your turn signals are even brighter. it makes my gen 6 look like audi headlights when you're in front looking back at me.

Well, I don't mind. But they say it's designed for plug-in-play, b/c it says it take the same voltage as stock, mind you, this is for the high beams so they do output more but they take the same voltage. The headlight bulbs I had before was the same way, their out was 8,500k, but they took the same voltage as stock, so those, I just plugged in, & that was all. These are the same way, I think I'll just see how these turn out to be.
