Stock Stereo Access

Hi all, my friend is interested in hooking his wife's iPod up to her 2006 Camry. They're wanting to go the same route that I did with my S2000 which is the Neo Prolink unit. I've volunteered to install the unit myself since I've installed many car stereos myself but I want to do this without damaging anything since I'm new to Camrys.

Neo Prolink in my S2000...

I'm looking for any and all photos related to removing the dash faceplates in order to access the radio so I don't damage anything. I've heard that clips hold in the plate behind the temperature control knobs and then clips hold in the piece around the radio. It would be great to know where the clips are at.

Thanks!

For the HVAC trim, just put a taped up flat head behind the trim on the far left and far right hand side, and pry out. This is just held in by light pressure tabs. There are 2 connectors behind the HVAC panel to disconnect. The trim around the OEM headunit is held in with clips. pull from the bottom with even pressure on both sides(underneath the vents). Once that is loose, pull from the top center where the light is until it comes out. You will have to disconnect the clock connector. After that, the radio is free to unbolt(4 bolts; 1 at each corner).

Sorry I have no pics, I am at work.

If you're referring to the Neo Prolink unit, I'm not sure how it works internally. Externally, it plugs into the back of the stock headunit via the cd-changer port. It doesn't lock out your iPod or iPhone so you can control it from that or you can control it from the factory radio buttons (volume, change track, mute) if your car has them. I got tired of carrying the aftermarket headunit faceplate with me in previous cars so no one would steal it so I opted for this so I could keep my stock radio and use my iPhone for music. I got mine at www.mp3yourcar.com but you can find it cheaper elsewhere.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I got a simple question: headunit or this: http://www.mp3yourcar.com/product_in...ducts_id=10020

Basically I want an Aux IN for my car plus I may get a sub and amp later.

It's easy to make your own thread. If you're planning on sub and amp later just get an aftermarket headunit.

I must have an oddity then. I have a Denison Ice Link unit for my factory radio.

Got bored a week ago and found out that Denison has parted with the American company that carried it.
