Sorry for the double threads but I am hoping to get some help(also posted to audio video). I recently switched the rear tray speakers in my 07 with the JBL system. The connection has four wires so I hooked into the two that went to the old 6x9's and not the two that went to the tweeter now there is very low volume. I also changed the front door 6x9's and they sound good. What did I do wrong on the rear speakers Please help.....cb

...I am a bit confused as their are only two wires (red/yellow) on each speaker on each side in the rear deak. These are 2 way coax speakers...so, where did you find tweeters wired separately?
I assume you checked the polarity and that the speakers have the correct impedance?
thank you for the response, Yes I checked the polarity on the speakers and it did not change anything. The JBL system has a connector that has four wires per speaker. two to the 6x9 (red/yellow) and two to the tweeter (green/black) this is where my confusion starts. I am running the red to positive and yellow to neg. side of new speakers. crazy huh

...well, I have the JBL as well and just messed around with the rear speakers...and have not seen any tweeter wires (honestly, really did not look for them either as I did not expect any on a coax speaker). What 6x9 speakers do you use and if you have tweeters wired separately (?), what did you do with that?
the wires I found are under the rear plastic tray if you look at the speakers from inside the trunk all that is visible is the red and yellow but when I pulled the interior to install the speakers I found the pluggins for the rear speakers are a four wire per speaker loom. trip out on that.......
What type of MB Quartz did you put in? Are they 2 ohms? The JBL system typically uses 2 ohm drivers while most aftermarket speakers are 4 ohms. If the impedance doesn't match, that could be your problem.
Another issue might be that the JBL system has separate channels for the tweeter and mid so you don't get the full range from either pair. I can't think of another reason why the JBL system has 2 pairs per side.
thanks for the help the speakers are four ohm and I guess that could be the problem do you know how that can be fixed? and I think the channel thing is probably right thanks again.

+1 - that was my initial guess as well. But how are the JBL tweeter and woofer wired (series or parallel or independent)? I thought their are not independent and just like a single channel on the amp with total impedance of 2Ohm?...but now I am really not sure anymore (got to dig up that wiring diagram, grrr)
fix for impedance, depends what you did with the tweeter and what impedance that tweeter has.

My guess is that there is a crossover at the amp so gives two channels, one for the mid and one for the tweeter. I don't know this for sure, but it sounds reasonable.
On my 2000 Camry, the tweeter and mid in the front doors were wired in parallel. The tweeter had a filter cap on it. I think my 2007 was the same way though I honestly don't remember. I remember seen a 4 pin connector for the tweeter in the dash of my 2007. I have an external amp thouh, 150W RMS x 2, so I had to run my own wire.

from the JBL page I remember that it states 8 channel system with 6 speakers. Front door are woofers, dash are mid, rear are 2 way full spectrum...can't find the link right now, I am looking.

There's no way there's six speakers because the regular sound system has 6 speakers. It's possible the rear of the JBL system is a component system even if it is a coaxial setup. I seem to remember 8 speakers in 6 locations from somewhere, the Gen 5 Camry maybe.

I remember the 8 speakers in 6 locations part. The extra two are part of the rear speakers. So technically its 6 speakers but i guess "8 speakers" sound alot better than "6 speakers" in the brochure
