Torque, wheel hop and a little smoke...

So, I love my Camry, but I hate a hard stomp from a dead dig. The front end slamming, and my change cup rattling. Any tricks to cure this? Besides removing my V6....

Now that its cold as f**k outside, today I made a left turn to leave work and I noticed my intake sounded a little louder...I thought nothing of it...5 seconds later, I look in my pass side veiw mirror and see smoke. Apparently my tires were so cold the spun with no effort. I literally left a nasty patch for like 25 feet and didn't even know it.

A whole year and I'm still trying to get used to this. Even my 400hp SVT Focus gripped better than this thing (to be fair, didn't drive in winter and had drag radials).

So, if I lower this car and tighten the suspension, will I ditch some of the hop and get more spin?

nope... lowering won't do anything...
What you need is an engine damper or a torsion bar

maybe your summer tires don't grip the cold winter roads at all.

Get better tires for the winter or stop flooring it ,but really though ever since I replaced the stock torque rod with the one ASG14 made, did suspension, I spin tires like crazy when flooring it from a dead stop. (Not complaining)

I didn't know I was laying a patch at the time. I just glanced in my mirror becuase I needed to move into another lane. I'm 31...I've gone past the "smoke the tires to impress the girls" phase. 31, Married and I have a daughter. Trust me, me priorities are slightly different.

As far as a torque rod/ damper...I'll fab up something if thats what helps. I always thought a tight suspension cured that.

Didn't mean for him to get the torque rod, just fabbing something up to make it stiffer would reduce it. I'm pretty sure if you had stiffer suspension, you would have less wheel hop. +9999 on the tire suggestion.

those tires are fine for dry roads. it's still winter so maybe you should think about winter tires that will work better on the wet and cold winter roads

Nah I wouldn't really get those tires...my Miata yes, Camry no - I'll probably get the Hankook RS2's...those tires were phenominal on my SVT Focus! $400 for a set in 17's and grippy. 280 Treadwear...just a hair under being an R compund.
