Where to put Sirius antenna on 07 Camry

For those that had their Sirius/XM installed, where did you install the antenna. I'm most likely going to purchase the Sirius Toyota receiver and tuner from Best Buy and do the install myself. Just not sure where to put the antenna.

Where do you have the headunit mounted? Also, do you have any reception problems with the antenna in the back window?

Didn't want to hijack this thread, but I just got Sirius myself and was wondering where other had placed the unit/antenna.

Thanks

I have a metallic tint and I'm not sure if that will cause problems in the back window.

i took these pics awhile back....i need a new suction cup lol..that's why i have foam holding it level.

i ran the antenna wiring under the plastic door pieces. The power cord goes under and behind my seat into the center console and into the 12V plug.

I'm not sure about the metallic tint best bet is to just try it.

Thank you for the responses - I have my windows tinted, not sure if it is the metallic type of tint, but I will find out when it warms up a bit. The pictures are a bonus too!

I have put the antennas in both my '05 Camry and my wife's '04 Sienna on the front right corner of the dash about 4" from where the windshield meets the dash and have had no issues with reception.

It really doesn't matter where it goes, as long as it's visible for the actual sat. in the sky

I put my antenna on the roof and covered it up with a shark fin

Here are some picks from the install:

This Sirius kit I bought, it works great and at the time was the least expensive.

SoundLinQ2 kit...

Here's the center console almost completely removed...

Head unit removed...

I ran the antenna wire through the trunk under the rear seat...

Trunk...

From the rear seat I ran the wire under the plastic molding...

From here I ran the wire under the carpeting and driver seat...

I used two plastic shirt collar inserts to insert the wire behind the rubber molding that's around the back windshield...

I also hid the Sirius antenna with a VG Shark fin, you can see more pics and info here...

I installed the SoundLinQ2 and Sirius tuner on the passenger side under the airbag (there is enough room there so that it stays out of the way of the airbag and it keeps the tuner static free since it's not near the head unit)...

I mounted the two units using double side heavy duty 3M tape (keeps everything on solid and no vibrations)...

Here's everything back together...

Awesome job. Where did you buy the Sirius equipment and how much (if you don't mind me asking)?
