06 camry xle steering wheel slight knock

In the last few weeks we have felt light knock while turning the steering wheel. If it is super quiet you can just barely hear it. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this.....figures, just out of warranty by a few weeks.

My 08 has the same problem, I think it's the clockspring.

i think its the steering shaft. i have a 05 camry and had the same problem as yours lessan. and the dealer replace mine under warranty.

if youre under 36,ooo miles, they will warrenty the repairs since its still 3/36k comprehenisve warrenty
the root of the issue is a failed steering intermediate shaft per TSB ST001-06

Thanks for the reply info. The car is under 36k miles, but it just went past the 36 month mark a month or so ago. I thought the warranty only applies to which ever comes first. So I think I might still be outta luck. Thanks Lesann

Maybe if you're lucky the dealer will be nice. Try to search around for a good dealer that will treat you well.
