Looking for opnions on coilovers for Gen6 Camry (Calling KTG Club!)
I'm doing a bit of research on coilovers for a Gen6 V6 SE. I've narrowed it down to the following three coilover manufacturers as possible ones to buy from. I do know that TEIN's are not released yet, but just included for research purposes.
Megan Racing Street Series
-6kg front and 4kg rear
-Pillowball top mounts
Tein Super Streets (Not released yet)
-6kg front and 3kg rear
K-Sport Kontrol Pro
-9kg front and 5kg rear
-Pillowball top mounts
BC Racing Type BR
-6kg front and 4kg rear
D2 Racing RS
-7kg front and 5kg rear (Not 100% sure)
I'm debating between probably the TEIN SS and Megan Racing ones, as those two seem to be the more popular brands, K-Sport is considered as well of course.
It just seems that for Tein SS's, the spring rates are kinda low, the Megan Racing ones seem better, but how do they compare to upgrading to their track springs as some here have done. I know they used to be offered in 10kg/6kg rates, any idea if Megan would sell or let me trade the spring rates for the older ones?
How comparably stiff would 10kg/6kg rates be to the 6kg/4kg ones? Especially since I'm coming off of just TRD springs.

the megans, ksport, d2 and bc racing are all essentially the same. my friend once told me they were all the same company. apexi is also part of this company.
anyway, i have the 10k/6k spring rate from megan (i believe) as they were the first to come out from the factory in north america. the coils that were produced later were all using the 6k/4k rates. megan also sells stiffer coil springs to use for replacement or track-only uses on their coilovers. it might be worth a shot for you to contact them and let them know you want to use a different set of spring rates.
the teins will be a while before they come out. i remember last year they said 1st q 2008 it would be out. yeah right, it's already 2009 and it still isn't out. if you have hookups over in indonesia or thailand, you'll have access to the SS coils.
how stiff are they? i came from trd/eibach too. during your first ride you probably won't notice much difference, but after some time driving it, you'll feel the bouncing of the car.
I contacted Megan Racing regarding getting the 10kg/6kg springs, and seeing if it's possible. I noticed that they did sell replacement coilover springs on their website, but at a MSRP of around $195 each set.
I'm guessing the 6kg/4kg from Megan Racing should be stiff enough for me, always adjustable anyways.

Tein informed me last week, they have the first shipment of the SS in and ready. You can call them directly or a dealer. The part number is DSC52-KUSS2.
From my personal experience, I have a gen5 currently with custom tein SS with spring rates 6k front and 3k rear. It is a little stiffer than stock and trd springs for sure but not extreme like the ksport i had in the past with 10k front and 5k rear. My brothers gen6 has the tein ss prototype(6k front, 3k rear) on his ride, but he is getting a yaris. So we are removing them and I will be posting them for sale sometime this week, so check out the for sale section if you are interested. I will recommend you go with either tein or megan. either way post pics once you slammed your camry haha
im a big fan of coilovers... but only with the LE, CE, and XLE
but if I had the camry SE model, which comes stock with KYB GR2, I'd get tein springs, strut and sway. mann.. the handling on that setup is phenomenal. Gene can definitely chime in on that one too.
