Whiteline RSB knocking, I think the mounting bolt is gone, what size is it?
Hey guys,
Today as I was driving I started to hear a knock coming from the rear of my car. I drive over a few holes and after a while, I have come to the conclusion that somehow the bar has come loose from its mount and is now knocking up against the frame. I havent gotten the chance to get under the car(mainly because it has been snowing all day and I have been out), but I hope to get under there tomorrow to see whats up. So basically,
If it does turn out to be the mounting bolt/bracket, what are my options? Are there aftermarket mounts made for our cars? Can I get the bolt and/or bracket from the dealership?
How bad is it to drive around when it is knocking like that?
Is the mount completely gone? Or are you just missing a bolt that's making the sway bar itself loose?
I'd just take the other bolt off and bring it to a hardware store to get a match, or you could go through a dealership, they'd charge much more for a simple plain bolt though.
The swaybar bushings could fall off as well as the bracket itself.

Ok so I took a look, and the upper mounting bolt that attached the sway bar to the chassis was missing. I took a walk to the local hardware store and picked up a new bolt. Installed it, took a test drive for 15 mins and all is solved. Here is my question:
I think the bolt I got was a steel bolt. Does anyone know what material the stock bolts are? I dont want to have a problem with this bolt breaking because of the stresses put on it.
I got a new bracket from there for mine. Also, i had to buy new bolts too. fits just fine.
forgot what size they were.
What happened with your bracket?
