Gen5 Opinion & Feedback Needed: Dual Halo Headlights

Hello folks.

I have an '06 Toyota Camry. Got the windows tinted and some nice black/chrome "19 rims on the sucker. I'm just trying to do some subtle yet tasteful mods on it since it's my daily driver.

I found these headlights (see the '05-'06 model section):

http://www.migicute.com/camryhl.html

Does anyone have any experience with these??? Here's the main question...why do these come as LED projectors and not HID projectors like '07+ ones? Is there anyway to change this...and would it even be worth it? I'm not too knowledgeable about this so if anyone has pics or can drop some knowledge on this, please do. Also, is there really improved lighting on these? Because I live in central CA and these cheapskates who take our tax dollars hate putting up light poles on the streets and freeways and it makes driving a bitch sometimes. I would like to have a little more improved lighting.

BTW off-topic...did you know they're going to give IOU's on our state tax return checks? Yea...that sucks.

they're crap...do a true HID retrofit....see my sig..i have them...only for looks (not that style). The output isn't BAD you can still see...but OEM is 1000% better...i don't do much if any night driving so i have no worries...but i do plan on swapping my SE lights back on in the spring...

LED does not refer to the projectors, they refer to the halos. Projectors are halogen based and not HIDs. I would not waste your money on these if you're looking for improved lighting... i've bought a similar style set (they're pretty much all the same) and they are pieces of shit. The lighting is WORSE than the stock lights! If you want a significant improvement in lighting, invest in a HID retrofit. Check out www.hidplanet.com for more information.

considering I have HID mods, these interest me tremendously if they fit OEM style and also no mod needed meaning I can fit my 9005 and 9006 bulbs in there i'm picking them up now!! asking for further details will post when I get answers!!!

^ they're H1 bulbs.. but you could easily retrofit a true HID projector into them (that's what i plan on doing)

^ but they stated that there's no mod needed -- I assume that they work with the original halogen bulbs... so I emailed them to find out what sockets they use

you unhook your OEM lights and just plug them in...and they're H1's by no modding they mean you don't need a new wiring harness.

Mine are that way anyway...if they worked with the OEM bulbs i would be using them instead of the H1's

^ yup, he's correct. Ebay projectors usually use H1 bulbs... especially the cheaper quality headlights. They come with adapters so that you can plug it into your oem harness without mods... so Gellenole your 9006/9005 hid kit will NOT fit. Gellenole, just save up for a true retrofit... you'll be far happier with it.

I'm mainly looking for a black housing on the lights (which the ones on this website have) and I want to have the halo look. But I definitely want HID. So the next question is...how can I combine the two? Or can I only have one and not the other?

you can have both. buy those lights... but retrofit true HID projectors into it. because they already have halogen projectors in it, you'll have an easier time fitting the HID projectors in than if you retrofitted the oem headlights.

I don't know if you know what I mean -- the bulbs I have are HID bulbs, but the socket is 9005/9006 sockets -- so they will screw into the OEM housing, don't know if that makes sense but my bulbs are HIDs.

i get what you're saying, but they will not fit into the headlights in the link provided by the OP.

The socket's are H1 and the 9006 bulb/socket won't fit into the actual housing.

what he mean is that your hid bulb will need to be H1 so it will fit in those aftermarket headlight, since does aftermarket headlight use H1, not 9006/9005. Right???
