Im really thinking about getting a V6 Camry 6 speed!!
Hey all.. It seems like a nice place in here. I currently drive a 1999 Civic hatch. I LOVE my car and im currently getting a motor swap. Im 20 years old and im trying to enjoy it as much as I can. Anyways, I dont want to be 22 and still drive a Civic so im thinking about getting an '09/10 Camry V6 6sp. with my 2009 tax return next year.
Ill part out my car, sell it as a stock car, use tax return and mney saved up. I dont want high payments!
I wento Penske Toyota here in Downey, CA to verify that V6 MANUAL Camry's exist and the salesmen confirmed it with me. I had to walk out because the salesmen was being too pushy and wanted me to run my credit. He was furious!
Anyways, I want to slightly modify it. I am not doing it to be different, I just really like how this car looks!
I want it lowered 2.5" on some 19" gold rims, tinted windows, 4300K HID's, yellow fogs, SLIGHTLY stretched tires, double DIN and a 12" woofer.
Ive been browsing the picture threads and there is a TON of riced out Camrys with faux fender vents, over sized rims on stock suspension, wierd hoods etc. What gives?
Anyways, opinions? and are the gears in the 6 speed tranny LONG? I know theyll be long, but I do want it to feel slightly sporty.

There will be rice with every car on the road. Welcome, pics of the civ?
For someone that has built a car already (a ricer) and that doesn't even have the Camry yet but already has a list of mods. You are criticizing yourself as well when you say that you have seen a ton of riced out Camrys. Everyone has their opinion, but everyone has their own car too. If the driver likes their car thats all that matters.
Anyways, the one thing you should know ahead of time is that the Camry is not a sports car. Test drive one and make up your own mind.
As for lowing it, Tein S-tech's exist, as well as Tein SS Coilovers or a few other brands.
At first he said no, V6's are only automatic. But he later called Toyota and they said one does exist (white, premium, V6, manual) in Northern California. So either they were lying to him or I dont know. If it comes 5 speed manual, I wouldnt mind that either.
I gave up on Car Domain, tons of ricers. I also checked out the white Camry thread, but only a few cars had anything worthy.
Eeek, S-Techs=DO NOT WANT! Ill probably get the coil overs, and add some stiffer bushings to the OEM sway bars.

My car is the FARTHEST thing from being rice. I dont have a gaudy cracked body kit, chrome 18"s, useless vinyl, etc.
And yes, I have a list of mods for a car I dont own. Im sure you had some in mind before buying your Camry. I am not critisizing myself, im looking at a shit ton of ricers in this forum and I was just stating the obvious. Im not trying to hurt anyone.
I never said the Camry was a sports car, I said I wanted it to be "sporty", as in sports like.
I did test drive one, but it was automatic.
1/4 of us don't care about what anyone says, regardless.
1/2 of us don't care as long as you don't insult us or our car.
1/8 of us only care if you insult our generation of car.
1/8 of us care if you insult our type of car.

Because I want a large 4 door. I like the aesthetics of a Camry, and I still want to MANUALLY shift. Not too much to ask for.

I actually like your car, it's pretty clean. I used to have a built SI that my dad bought me before i even had my license. By the time i sold it i was doing low 11s N/A. A lot of money went into that car labor was free though, i did most of the work in auto shop in high school lol
I have a 5speed I4 and i wouldn't want a automatic so i know where you're coming from. I learned how to drive in a manual and that's all i've driven. Im throwing some money into this car as well, i have a collection of parts at my house right now, just waiting for spring and the snow to melt.
