hey whats up guys. been a while... so on to the post, umm, so its still a mystery to me, but tonight i was out eating with a friend. afterwards we got in my car and all of the sudden i get a pretty strong smell of what, to me, smelled like dog poo. it was pretty undeniable. and we were both like ahh man someone stepped in some shit. but, we both cleaned off the bottom of our shoes, and it seems like the smell is coming from the vent? how is this possible? it isnt the familiar musty smell coming from vents that you get posts about in the summer time. any suggestions for investigating? where should i look? its really baffling me..

maybe u ran over a skunk...

those are HARD to get out of your car, the smell that is.

either that or your cabin filter needs to be changed? if not.. I'd rip apart my vents to see what's wrong. its pretty easy to take it off.

Did you check the area around you?

Cause that happened to me this afternoon while waiting on the red light at the same intersection at the same time for the last 3 years, and it just happened that I smell the damn smell today.

I drove away and it was gone... I thought it's my car that started to crap out on me..

naa man, its for sure coming out of the vents. i turned em on high all the way home, and the smell was still there. wtf? where is the air intake for the interior located?

maybe a rat crawled up and died in you engine compartment. It happen to a friend of mine but inside the car, they took the whole interior apart and they didnt find it, finally he got really pissed and burned the whole car.

change your filter
check your vents.

Raise the hood and look at the air intake vent on the passenger side below the windshield. I presume that it can be removed by pulling a few screws and molding. Take it off and see if anything fell through. I have tree leaves in there all the time and have fould bits of leaves on the cabin filter, so some things can get through. Perhaps some animal pooed at that spot and it has migrated through the grate.
