Check engine light, bad gas?

I filled up my 2008 camry se v6 with 89(yes i know manual says 87 but i it don't hurt to put 89). About 30 min after that i turned off car and after coming back after about 45 min check engine was on. Gas cap is tightened correctly, could this problem be caused by bad gas?

I only have 10k on my car.

no. your engine light did not come on because of your gas.

Well thanks for reply, have appointment with dealer set for Thursday hopefully nothing major.

you can try resetting your car.. unplug your battery for a couple minutes... it doesn't hurt to try

Tried to do "soft" power reset. Light back on 5 min after i started driving. I am hopping it's simple as gas cap being bad, as car drives fine.

Dealer ordered wire harness and some gaskets. Forgot to ask exactly what the problem is but was told it's safe to drive. The error code is p-2240, anyone know what error code means?

Thank you for posting that, how common is this problem? I only got 10k

my mom had the same issue on her 2007 solara sport V6 convertable at 12k....replaced the sensor and it was fine after that
could be a manufacturing defect in the sensor, could be that you used cheap gas...my mom was using cheap gas, so now she uses brand name gasoline and has no issues at 19k

All gas is the same pretty much nowadays. That's what Tom and Ray Magliozzi (spelling) say.
