Interesting article on modding

Import Tuner has an interesting article on modding the IS 250, though I think it's relevant for our Camrys as well. They wanted to keep the warranty intact on the car, so they used mostly Lexus F Sport parts. They added an exhaust, air intake and spark plugs, for a grand total of over $2000 in parts and labor. The result was.... 10 horsepower gained and a few foot-pounds of torque. As measured on a dyno.

Seems like a bargain to me.

Yes, same idea. Just shows the marginal gain from these expensive "upgrades". I'm glad I saw this article before wasting $$$ on a TRD exhaust.

most of us are spending 2-3k+ on parts and gaining NOTHING.....so that article doesn't really mean much...

My car is loaded with TRD parts...1000hp baby!

idk.
i think most people will mod for personal pleasure also
like for me and my friends
it gives us something to do after school.
its fun to jack up ur car and throw on some lowering springs,
sparkplugs, sway bars, intakes,..ect

the only thing is. what is guna happen when i run out of reasonable stuff to do haha.

Nope DSL, but 30 sec just sounded like a nice round number to throw in there at the time.

All my mods are for looks, no performance gained. Even my exhaust, i just changed the muffler to get a different tone. I heard my car for the first time from outside, i told my friend to do a drive by and it wasn't as loud as it sounds when in the car. Sweet.
