I am trying to power up my after market navi without installing it to mess with some of the settings. I know that these units runs on 12 volts DC, but what amperage do they handle? I see that the wiring harness that came with the unit has a 20 amp fuse, so I'm assuming any amperage less than this would be okay.....how many amps does the car battery delivery to the radio?

use a regulated power supply and set it to 12V DC...it will only draw as much current as needed.
