snow chain/cable. SAFE on lower car???

i got a 2003 camry and is lower. i wanna know if it is safe to use snow chain or cable

I heard story that the chain or cable will hit the fender

i heard snow chains are bad for your car all around...

it says you live in SD... you get snow??? or at least enough of it to warrant chains??

i just wanna know because, i been doing alot of snowboard trip in the mountain and wanna have them in the trunk for safty but if it does damage then ima take my mom suv, but my camry use less gas, the suv suck gas like crazy

chains are ALWAYS a bad idea...chains can rip the wheelspeed sensor wires out of your camry's braking system, and you will lose the function of your ABS/TRAC, and they will cost you alot of money
they can also rip up your fenders and fenderwell linings

Get cable chains for their lower profile, use bungee cord tie downs to make sure they are tight on the tire. Drive a couple of miles then stop and recheck them for tightness.

Practice putting them on the tire when conditions are warm and dry!

Most chains come off due to improper installation. Inspect the chains between usage for damage. You will need to drive slower with chains on.
