Gen 5

I have a 2006 Camry LE with the I4 and 5 speed automatic. Any one have a good suggestion on how often to change the tranny fluid? I have everything from every 20,000 to never.
Thanks in advance for your help.

In my owner's manual they state nothing about changing the fluid. On the dip stick for the tranny, it states that it does not have to be changed under normal driving conditions. For me normal is only a setting on a clothes dryer. What does normal mean?

60k is probably right. Check the maintence guide. I know the 120k service is a tranny flush (which I'm about to do because I'm overdone and I got the same exact car only twice the miles).

Thanks for the info. I will keep an eye on the fluid and then change it at 60,000. One thing that I have noticed is that once in a while it will make a hard downshift after freeway driving. Does your do this as well?

No mine is smooth. Maybe you should get the tranny flush done real good.
