09' <6000km NEW transmission

Yup you heard right, 09 Toyota Camry SE with V6 took it in today for it's first oil change, mentioned that the transmission flares between 2 and 3rd. Got a call 3 hours later and the service manager advising that he took the car out personally and can confirm that the transmission is slipping and he will be ordering a new one ASAP! As well he got cut off while driving the car, piled it into a snowbank and destroyed the front spoiler, so he will also be ordereing a new one of these as well.

I fixed your post for you

OP: I would have been PISSED the Service MGR crashed your car! Did you feel any slip?
I sold a 08 XLE V6 Christmas eve. It was a demo with 10K miles on it. On his Post Delivery Inspection (the kind of service we give ) I thought I felt the trans slip while pushing the car hard, service preformed a software update (TSB) and I have not heard anything since.

I have an 08 I4 and at 8000 miles the transmission and shift solenoid were replaced with a rebuilt unit. I was told and confirmed with Toyota corporate that they wouldn't replace with a brand new unit. I've had all the updates performed but am still getting the occasional flares, especially in cooler weather. When I purchased the car, it came with a limited lifetime powertrain warranty, but I am not sure I believe the dealer, and therefore Toyota will stand by their product. The car doesn't drive as well as my previous 1996 Camry with 248k miles. That being said, I still love my car, just wish the they could resolve these transmission issues once and for all.

I hope they can because transmission problems are annoying.

It's great how your dealer acknowledged the problem!

I'm already on transmission number 2. This one does the 2-3 slip but my dealer refuses to acknowledge it. Oh well...I'll drive the car until the powertrain warranty runs out (100000KM) - after that, it will be someone else's problem.
