Sunroof Wind Deflector - Rattle

On my 08 LE the wind deflector rattles when the sunroof is closed. I stopped by the dealer today asking if there was a quick fix for this problem. The Service Writer didn't know of one. He said they would be glad to work on it, give me a loaner, etc. But he confirmed what I saw in the service manual - to gain access to the sunroof the headliner must be removed. And that means disassembling the cabin interior, to include removing the seats. I'm afraid the cure might be worse than the disease.

I'm wondering if someone has found a simpler solution. Stick-on pads, or some such.

When you guys refer to the deflector, are you referring to the black piece that pops up in the front when the roof is opened?

My wife's Camry has a rattle in the front side of the sun roof and it seems to be coming from the metal bar/piece below the black defector that pops up. I haven't really had a chance to tear into it, but I was wondering if this is the same rattle you guys are experiencing and whether or not you have discovered a quick fix for the issue.

If your talking about a pooping noise coming form the front sunroof area while going over uneven roads its probably not the deflector. There is a TSB for the issue i can get you the number for it. There is a flat of sheet metal by the sunroof that forms a pressure point causing it to pop. The headliner does need to be dropped to apply some sound deafening material under that pressure point. The Whole sunroof will have to come out too. Hope that helps. Its about a 1-2 hour job if the tech know what hes doing. Let me know if you need the tsb number

I have this problem with my 2010 se v6 12k on it. It sounds like its above the visors and also in rear near the grab handles on headliner. Most noticeable on uneven surfaces like pulling in driveway. If you have the TSB that would be great.
