5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I recently bought a new 2009 Toyota Camry in December. This past couple of weeks the ABS, TRAC, AND VSC lights all came on. I took it to the dealership and they checked for an open circuit in the brake light switch. So, I left and before I got home the lights came on again. So, then they had to call Toyota technical department and told them if they didnt find any faults just replace the ABS Acuator...so they replaced the abs actuator and brake fluid and all that. So I picked it up this last Saturday after they changed it and before I got home the lights came on again...so I took to the dealership today and they said they were going to have to keep it until a part comes in. They said they think they found the fix for it....they ordered a new brake light switch...can this really cause all of these lights to come on? The car only has 550 miles on it.
Toyomoho is correct. When your check engine light comes on it also turns on ABS and Trac and VSC light. Need to run codes and diag from there. Example-in my case it was the air fuel sensor.
It turned out to be the brake light switch. If they would have just changed the simple little switch out in the first place instead of replacing the abs actuator first, then things would have been taken care of in one visit instead of 4. Oh well. It's fixed now
