Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So yeah, I'm venturing from my Gen 3/4 section, lol.
A few part questions on the 04-06 rear brakes, Drums vs Disc.
Are the following different or the same, and if different, could they STILL be interchanged without brake issues.
-Master Cyl
-Proportioning Valve
-Lines
Thanks

Adam, what's a good brand of brakes and pads? i'm due and i keep getting mixed answers, and i know you knwo your stuff.
I'm looking for drilled/slotted discs front a rear..for a fair price not overly expensive. (i know it's a bit off topic, sorry)

adam, i can see if theres different part numbers listed for the above parts...
to my knowlege the lines will be different, but the master cylinder will probably be the same, and maybe the proportioning valve too
where are you going to source rear disc brakes from anyway adam? youll need the whole knuckle i think
as for brake choice punks, i use all oem stuff myself, but hawk pads and brembo rotors are always a good combo.
yea i figured OEM, but i want slotted/drilled rotors! atleast on the front.

different lines you say? the line after connecting joint, like the brake line leading right to brakes... or the line between master and connecting valve all the way at the rear fender well?

Looking up part #'s: Master Cyl, Propotioning Valve, e-brake cables are all the same part #.
'05 I4 and V6 rear disc's should be the same.
I know the caliper to hard line is different, so I think thats what he meant. The hard lines should be the same.
My mom is going to kill me.......
^ok. caliper to brake line is the only other difference then. nothing an aftermarket stainless-steel line can't fix (i believe there is an application out there). the rear discs are indeed the same for v6 and i4. heck, the only drum'd model is the i4 LE.
