Roof insulation or sound deadening material?
I have an 07 Camry. It has a moonroof and Nav. I still have some sort of knocking sound coming from the roof. Sounds like someone dropping a rock on the roof. Sound is not constant. Whenever I go over a bump or uneven surface, there would a knock (sort of like tapping on sheet metal with another piece of metal). I just looked inside the roof lining today (from the moonroof looking towards the rear, with the moonroof closed). I noticed there wasn't an sort of insulation or sound deadening material on the roof. Just sheet metal. Maybe that's why when it rains hard, it sounds like someone is dropping coins on top of my roof. Should there be some kind of insulation or sound deadening material up there? Or is there not suppose to be any because of the moonroof or Nav?
