i see several STIs here who do that because it's a disposable type of lip. plus since it is flexible, you would have the peace of mind that it wont get damaged when you scrape.
if you check the gen3/4 forums i believe there might be a couple people who do that.
guys from maxima.org and g35driver do that as well. neat and inexpensive. probably 20-30bucks for a roll which is more than enough for the front bumper. double tape and screw, and you are done!

yup i saw the maxima, g35 and mazda guys do it too and it looks really good.. i think i may drop by home depot and get this, along with another item for my in-progress mod
Damn, I wish I knew about this when I bought my car, it would have been my first mod. Could have saved my bumper from a lot of scrapes... Seems like this is at least worth trying.
