hi, i recently went to a shop where i had to oportunity to try some highlander 08 hibryd 19 inch wheels that looks so great but when they tried to fit one it touched the brake caliper. with a 1/4 spacer it fitted fine but my question is has someone has problems with rims using spacers? i fear that it could make my ride uncomfortable or tremble. thanks for any info
i'll be running spacers with my rims..15mm in the rear (with extended studs) and 5mm in the front. Several TN'ers use them, never heard any complaints.
be sure to get hubcentric spacers AND hubcentric rings for those rims.
im not sure on the hub bore of the highlander/rims, but the camry has a 60.1 hub bore.
H&R makes hubcentric spacers and rings for our cars.
other makers are project kics and ichiba.
5mm and you should be fine with the stock lugs, anything more than 5 you should have your studs changed out to longer ones to accommodate the spacer.
thanks for the info i called H&R and they explained to me how a spacer works and why its better to buy a hub centric spacer so i can avoid my car tremble while i drive. thanks a ton guys for your help

+1, except I have 10mm spacers (hub and wheel centric) and use the OEM studs but extended lug nuts instead (search under ET lug nuts). Works like a charm since thousands of miles.
i have a question, if i buy a hubcentric spacer from H&R like this one http://www.revlinecustoms.com/prodde...56014&cat=3265 do i have to also buy hubcentric rings? or does the h&r spacer has the lip that functions like a ring? thanks
it has a bit of a lip but not enough to fit aftermarket wheels or oem wheels that don't share the same hub bore. best is to find out what the hub bore of the highlander wheels then decide from there if you will be needing them. hub rings are cheap, maybe less than 5bucks a pop
thanks again for your info and i was checking the hub bore and i found this website and the camry and highlander share the same bore 60.1 so if i use the h&r spacer i shouldnt have problems and nothing else to buy.
