5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I own a 2007 Camry SE with 52,000 KM on it. I don't have any official complaints, the poor finishing in the interior and the fact that I find the engine a little underpowered (opted for the 4 cylinder due to the manual option) are the only two real issue...
I have the opportunity to buy a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro, it has 65,000 KM but under extended warranty until 120,000K
I know it's like comparing apples and oranges, but I have always loved the audi's, I'm not crazy about the 2006 model but it's the only way I can afford to drive one. Is the gas/ maintenance going to murder me? am I making a stupid mistake here?
Can my toyota brothers and sisters let me know what they think?
Audis are nice but if something goes. Parts and labor is going to rape you. Yeah the rattle and minor problems like that are annoying but at least don't cost me anything and i know as long as i take car of it, it will last me for years to come.
I believe that the previous gen A4 is not worth the money. Too small/cramped and a little underpowered. If you plan on getting the maintenance done at the dealership, the cost of serving will be VERY expensive. I would stick with the Camry if you are really concerned about costs.
Seen one in london the other night, damn was it the most beautiful thing ive ever saw in my rear view mirror.....and then after a few seconds all i could see was its rear end!

Yea they are beautiful. There's one rollin around the Whitby area.
I have had a long list of Audi's before I ever had a Toyota and enjoyed every moment. I had an Audi 100 with 250,000km on it w/o issues, I had an Audi90 Kaman which I pushed hard w/o any issues and anything in between. I like the new A4 2009 models, but the previous models are nice too.
Just two concerns - A4 is much smaller than your Camry (even the 2008 A6 is smaller in the second row) and I would look for the 3.2l engine. I did not buy the A6 as the cost goes up quickly when choosing the options I have on my Camry.
