$250 Bluetooth Hookup By Dealer Worth It?

At the time of purchase, the dealer said they can put in bluetooth capability into my car for $250 or $299 cant remember which one. Is this worth it? He also said it would go near the light where the rear view mirror is. Is there a way I can get them to install it on my wheel?

Dont want to be steered wrong by the dealer here. Let me know!

Also, I only want the bluetooth, nav and a diff radio etc doesnt really interest me unless it can connect to my iphone via docking cable and charge/play music.

Just get the bluetooth mirror at Target for 60 bucks, it works good. It has caller ID, buttons, speakers, headset.

I have a SE with bluetooth built into the car from factory. The mic is installed exactly as you described just behind the sunglasses holder. Overall this is actually a pretty good location because even with the windows down a little, there isn't a whole lot of wind noise for the person on the other end of the call to hear. If the mic was on the steering wheel column, you would potentially get feedback from the nearby speakers as well as wind noise if the windows were down even a little bit.

That would be a great place for the mic, as you described the potential for air to get into the mic will be low.

However I was actually talking about the buttons for the bluetooth. If you get it factory installed the buttons would be on the steering wheel. If you get the dealer to do it they will install the buttons where the sunglass holder is.

Can you guys suggest some nice aftermarket ones that I can install? Also it would be a plus if I can work it in seamlessly into the cars design and wont stick out like a sore thumb.

Thanks for the replies everyone!
