Camry 04 - Maintenance Required light?

Hey guys,

I bought a preowned Camry a year ago, and I tend to get very nervous whenever my car does anything unusual. Well, this week, I noticed the maintenance required light flashes a few times when I crank up the car. The manual tells me this light signals time for an oil change.

Is this really true? I am approaching 5K since my last oil change. Will the light disappear after it is changed out? How the heck does my Camry know when an oil change is done?

yes, its time for an oil change. The oil change place will reset the light.

yes you need an oil change. search button is your best friend.

Lite blinks a few hundred miles before the 5k. Change oil and reset. How does it know? Computer counts miles from the reset. Pretty smart, eh? My Chev been doin' that for 10 yrs now.
