04 Camry Squeaky Brakes?

For several weeks, my Camry has been driving me bonkers with squeaky brakes. Every time I left off the brake pedal, I hear this loud squeak.

Over Christmas, I went to a brake shop, and they inspected my brakes. They told me the brakes looked fine. Also, this dealer told me that brand new brakes, roters and drums were put on the car when I bought it. I've only drove it 15,000 miles since then.

Any idea what could be causing this? The squeak only happens when I left off the pedal. I did notice that I don't get the squeak on rainy days.

If they are still squeaking by now there are a couple of things i would check first.
-They may have done a brake job but were shims supposed to be used on your brakes and if so, are they in place?
-I would take the brakes apart and the pads out. Clean the brakes really well with brake cleaner spray. Count on using one can per side. Wipe brake sliding surfaces (where the edges of the shoes touch) and back of brakes with a rag and clean them too.
-Inspect the pads for cracks and fluid soaking, if they have either, change them. If they're ok, then get some brake anti squeak compound from the auto parts. Also get some high-temp brake grease while you are there. (The squeak compound is a blue goop that you apply to the BACK of the pads.) Apply the blue goop to the back of your pads and lay em face down and let them dry for a few minutes. Now apply a small amount of brake grease to the sliding surfaces where the brake pads touch their metal guides (right on the edges as you saw when you removed the pads). Reassemble brakes, all of what you just did should have made them shut up now.

-If they STILL squeak after all this (not likely), try some new pads and have your rotors inspected AGAIN, turn or replace them if necessary.

99.9% its your brake pads. Try buying a set of the highest quality pads you can find (raybestos are great) and have them installed and see if it still squeaks.

if it still squeaks with the new pads then return them. if it doesnt then your problem is solved.
