Any Ipod or Iphone owners that have it rigged up to your car?
I am looking for a good solution to have my iPhone in view while I drive. I used to have an iPhone window mount on my 99 camry and it worked great but because of the design of the new camry the power cord wont reach.
Basically what i'm wanting is a way to mount my iPhone on my windsheild and have the car charger cable reach the charger in the dash and the aux cable go into that port. Has anyone found a good solution for this?
Also I heard about this iPod integration kit. Does that work with an iPhone? How long is that cord? Also correct me if im wrong but the hole for that cord is inside the glove box correct? If so is there a way you can connect it in your glovebox and run the wire out of your glovebox so I can mount it on my windsheild?
I saw a cupholder universal GPSholder that fit the iPhone in Walmart. Tried it out for a couple days but it kept affecting the way I change gears. From park to drive etc. Got annoying so I gave it back.
(Unless you mean you just leave it in the cupholder haha)
IMHO the 12v in the dash was not thought through very well. It can only be utilized if you want to charge your phone and leave it in that space in the dash.
I wish there was a good solution for this, I am carrying around a 300 dollar piece of weight if I cant listen to it in my car.
You do know that you can use the charger in the center console below the radio and loop the wire through the opening on the passenger side of the dash, where that little cubby exists right?
I have a Kuda mount for my Garmin that's within arm's length of the radio source puttons. I'm sure they have an iPhone mount by now. Not exactly a windshield mount but it's close to all of the connections needed. If I had an iPhone I wouldn't want to mount it on the windshield. Then again that's just me...

No I did not know that, I will look at it tomorrow.
And this is EXACTLY the type of ingeniousness I was looking for. Will look more into Kuda mounts tomorrow. If anyone else has more please post!
I run the AUX from my iPod Touch through the cubby hole on the side, it's relatively clutter free.
+1 for Bracketron. I have the air vent mount to hold my Valentine One Concealed Display and I have the cup holder for my Blackberry Storm/iPod Touch. I did a fake hardwire for my Valentine. I have it running through my roof liner, down the A pillar, across the top of the glove box and into the cubby. Looks clean but I never thought of running the AUX cable out from the cubby as well. I guess its because I usually just shove the cable back in when I'm not using it
You can purchase from eBay for dirt cheap. I got the cup holder for $19 including shipping and the air vent for $8.00 including shipping. It wont come in its original packaging but I dont care cuz its getting thrown out anyways when I open it up.
I personally think those products that cost $50+ is a rip off. You wont be driving that car for the rest of your life, its expensive and if its product specific, you're not going to be using/keeping it for long either.

Thanks for reading and hoping for suggestions.
The latest version of the DICE Electronics integration device have 5 volt chargeing and is compatible with the iPhone. I have one hooked to an iPod Classic in my wifes 09 Camry. However, I'm not sure you can use the iPhone while the stereo is using it as a source for music so you will want to e-mail them and check the web page to make sure.
I think it's worth it to have another iPod just for music so you don't have to hook and unhook the phone to the cable all the time. My wife has an iPhone but she did not want to have to do that so we got her the extra iPod. The integration box hooks to the CD Changer plug on the stereo so you do have to take some of the console apart to get it in. I have the USASpec one in my 07 Camry so I've tried two brands now. Neither one is perfect, they both glitch and start back at the start of the list now and then but I don't think there is a perfect one.
