Gen5 OEM Foglight Installation Question

I just replaced my 03 bumper with an gen 5.5 se bumper with foglights. the old bumper got smashed after driving through a snowbank that the snow plow driver was kind enough to leave across a major intersection.

anyways there are three tabs on the foglights that align with tabs on the bumper but I can't figure out how to get them to fasten. Also on both sides right above where the foglights go there is wiring plugged into a small piece of metal. is this the wiring for the fogs?

thanks

and please dont give me a headache about the search function I used it and couldn't find what I was looking for.

thanks. I had already looked at those threads and couldn't quite find the answer.

I looked again and I guess the 02-04 fogs just snap into place wheras the 05-06 require screws?

can anyone confirm this?

yes, 05-06 fog lights require screws.

great. thanks.

I was thinking about splicing the wire that's attached to the lowbeam bulbs and attaching a second 9006 socket to plug in the fogs so that the fogs turn on when the lowbeams are on.

anyone have any thoughts on whether this would work?

fogs turn on when lowbeams are on anyway...and turn off when the highbeams are activated.

true but my car didn't originally come with oem fogs. It has the pre-existing wiring for them but if I use that I will have to replace my turn signal stalk with one thats made for fogs to complete the circuit. I would rather spend $20ish for some wires and 9006 sockets than over $100 + wait for shipping for the stalk.

just buy the foglights on ebay with wiring harness, switch and relay. you can't just tap the wires on lowbeams. you need a relay in order to work. to much load on the low beams if your just gonna tap it on low. when you buy ebay kit its better to tap it on your park lights or side marker lights and battery.
i thought you already read the one i gave you?

you'll be spending that $100 and much more repairing the wire harness when it melts/burns out from the extra load. those wires are pretty thin, and it won't support two 9006 bulbs... the fuses certainly won't support it. don't even think about increasing the fuse amp rating either, that will for sure cause your wire harness to melt.

personally, i'd go for the oem stalk option... much cleaner and a simpler install. no wiring really necessary, other than replacing the stalk.

if you go the ebay harness route, the wiring is far more involved. IMO i would not want to deal with that mess.
