In the ad he says he has receipts for the new engine and with labor it came to $3300. I'll have to look over the paperwork and see where it was done. I'm with you though, if it's the dealership I don't think that should be a problem.
I was looking through CL and in some of his older listings for the car, he mentions the A/C compressor is bad [oddly, it's not in the newer listings

] and estimates it at $250. Of course anything could be wrong with the A/C though so maybe my friend can lowball him and get a good deal. Then she can fix the A/C, whatever, and still come out ahead with a nice ride.
I'll update you guys once I get a chance to look at it.. I'm kinda curious!
