Air Circulation Knob not working

Hi Toyotanation,

I seem to be having problems with one of the interior functions in my 2009 Camry. The control knob that enabled me to shut out the outside air is no longer working. It was working before, and it stopped working, and a few days ago my friend pushed it, and it worked, but now, it has completely stopped working; when I push it, the orange light does not come on anymore. This is a minor problem but it irks me because sometimes I have to drive through a smelly road and I cannot shut out the air.

Has anyone experienced this problem? I am actually not sure if it has completely stopped working or if is not working due to certain conditions. I don't know much about the function of the control knob except for that it enables me to shut out or let in air.

that is not normal. take it to the dealership.

my camry will automatically take itself out of recirculate mode after about 5 minutes, but this is the way it is designed.

I have figured it out after reading the user's manual! I cannot shut off the outside air if I have the defogger on
