I just installed the 500k HID kit and now everytime i steop out of the car i am getting a schock. Not only me but any passenger who sits in my car. Could the HID kit be causing this?
i get shocked also
but not all the time
and its verrry small
im doubt its from HID's tho
i think its juss from too much friction on the seats..
nawadamean?!

wow..seems like this is a bigger issue than I thought! But its good to know i am not the only one with this problem!
darksparkz - when you said upgrade/add grounds do u meant the ones that run from the frame to the ground in hte back? cause i am always making fun of cars with those...i just don't like the way they look, lol!
I get zapped when I try to close the car door. Then again, I get zapped everywhere I go. At work when I touch door knobs, at home when I touch my monitors power button. I usually just touch whatever it is with a piece of cloth so the zap is less powerful. It might just be my head that its less powerful but I probably look like a damn fool opening doorknobs with my hand in my sleeve.
it is mainly due to the cold, dry air. Electricity flows easier through dry air aka no water or humidity. Therefore, when you rub against your seats to get out of the car, there is static buid up and you release it on the metal part of your door when you get out. Djkor has the right idea about putting an anti-static spray on the seats.
i have leather..but i also have seat covers..clothe...weird.
In physic class, the teacher use fur and a glass rod to make the charge. Your cloth act like the fur, while the leather is smooth acting like the glass rod. It rub, and U get charge.
