Gen6 Keyless Entry Problem

What's up guys, I am having a hard time figuring this out. I have searched for any threads regarding this problem but have not been able to pin point the same problem I have.

I have an 08 Camry, and have not had a problem with the car as of yet. Today I went to get the car washed, drove to work (about an hour commute) I parked and tried hitting the Keyless Entry button to lock the car and low & behold, it does not work. Figured the problem to be a battery going dead, but I tried locking the car with my other key (which has not been used since I have bought the car) and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions? I don't mind taking the car in for service but I wanted some feedback to see if anyone has encountered this problem. After an hour commute I would figure any water would have dried off. Not sure what do as of now.

I figured that. I just brought it to service and they swapped out the keys for new ones at no cost.

That worked? I would figure since your old unused key should still have full battery?

I took both, they disconnected the battery and reset it. That didn't work so they kept it simple and gave me 2 new keys. I didn't ask any questions and they didn't charge me. It worked for me.

Weird. That means they must have had to reprogram the the car with the new keys right?

I am assuming so, my car was in the garage as I was checking out the Highlander. The service tech simply told me that they gave me 2 new keys and that my old ones are sent to Toyota.
