I am working on installing my HID's but can't seem to find a descent place to place my ballast. I wanted to know where people were placing their ballast on both sides for an 08 Camry. Oh and I couldn't find anything with the search. thanks in advance
I placed the left side ballast next to the fuse box, it tucked right in and for the right side headlight i just tucked it inbetween the washerfluid. Fit pretty well for me, I have an 07 Camry LE.

I have mine the same way...8 months and no problems as of yet.
^^ditto. i had mines tucked away in the same area too. Also remember to carefully zip tie the wires to so it doesn't hang or get loose after months of driving.
I don't have the slim ballast. I want to swap out my 4300k with 6000k, but my lights havent posed a problem as of yet, so I don't want to fix something that isn't broken.
There is NO need to hide the ballasts. They are already weather-proof so whether you hide them or not, they will work just the same.
Here is where I mounted mine. They have been working for 2 years without issue. Clearly, NO HIDING is necessary unless you want a clean engine bay. But then again, not too many people look under your hood so who cares?

Anyone wonder what life would be without Zip-ties?
My friends bust my chops because I find a way to use them for any application I can think of
I'll be lookn to zip tie mine in the same area. My HIDs are on the way....or so GTR-SE says

Not all ballast are waterproof. There are some that are sealed with epoxy and some arent. I have Philips LVQ ballast and they arent sealed. It all depends on what brand and where you get them from.

The ones I have are supposedly sealed. Besides, I don't really care if the kit dies. It's already lived for 2 years - that is already a year longer than I expected.
At home I have 2 spare ballasts, and also two spare new H11 4300K bulbs and also a spare harness. So in essence I already have a complete backup kit right here.
By the way, if anyone wants a pair of real Philips H7 4300K bulbs, contact me. I've only used them for 2 hours on a car. They've been sitting in the box since then.
