Hey guys, i have a 2005 toyota camry with stock steelies and tires, i believe the tires are bridgestone potenza's with 160 threadwear. Im looking into buying some new rims and tires, but i have no clue what will look good on my car, im looking for some 17" - 19" rims something that will looking good and cover up my wheel gaps, my car is not lowered. what do you guys suguest? im willing to spend up to $1300 or even a little bit more depending if it looks really good on my car. Looking for a clean look nothing to flashy so no chrome, also ive been trying to find a set of 17" grey se rims but there hard to find. here are some pics of my car:
any thing that you think will look nice on a gen 5.5 camry, ive seen some really nice wheels on some gen 6 cars, but i dont know how it will look on my gen 5.5 camry. it would be great if you can provide pics of some rims that will look good. im fine with anything except for chrome.

The thing is that i have a 2005 camry le that has rear drum brakes that really kill the look when i add alloys to the car, what are your guy's opinions, stay with stock or "who cares about drum brakes" and just get the wheels? also as for tires im not sure which ones to go with, so it would be great if you can suggest me some good tires to go along with these rims, and good tires that wont wear out fast, i live in washington, so it rains majority of th time and sometimes light snow, and it gets sunny 3 1/2 - 4 months out of a year.

those michelins are sloppy in the rain, it came oem with my car... tires are a bit more important than the rims for me, yoko advan avid 4's are nice performance all-seasons, falken zeix 912 are also nice and cheap but im not sure how they drive in light snow
i would really worry about having brake drums and having nice wheels, i have a gen5.5 with chrome 20's and i painted the brake drum black, so now i can hardly tell its there, compared to the original color which was gray and very noticeable. i'm just waiting for hot weather to paint the calipers black.

My opinion, go with 18", gunmetal with a polished lip, it'll go well with your car's color. Or if you want to keep it clean and classic, go silver, with or without a lip (I like a little lip on my wheels). Offset will need to be between 30-45mm. Aim for 40 or 35. For tires, since you're not lowered (highly recommended, just a 1"-1.5" drop) go with a 45 profile tire on an 18" wheel, and make sure you keep the tires clean and gel'd (aka the wet look). The wet look really makes the polished lip pop. Be sure to utilize a tire size calculator to compare stock size to aftermarket size. just google it. If you buy from a wheel/tire combo from a store or online, they should recommend the correct tire size and wheel offset for you. $1300 is plenty to get a decent set of wheels and tires at 18". Another option, look for used on ebay or craigslist. That way, if you don't like them, it's not a big loss to sell them and get another set. I've got an set of 19" pulled from my previous car, I'm shopping for tires for them. Oddly, 19" tire prices jump, some 19" tires are more expensive than 20". That's why I recommend 18". Remember, larger the wheel size, the more you give up in comfort. If you've got long communte to work/school, go 17" or 18". Primacy's are grandma tires (if you're a grandma, sorry if i offended you). Go with a Ultra High Performance tire. Check out General Exclaim or Kumho SPT. Good bang-for-the-buck tires. Check out other Gen5's on the site, check the link LoudCamry supplied to get ideas. A'ght, I think I rambled on enough, I hope that helped. Good luck, have fun!
