Eclipse AVN6620 on non jbl/navi for Gen 5.5

Hey guys...definitely long time no post/modding...


but I am quite eager to get ready for my next upgrade. After searching, it looks like the eclipse double din line will accept the steering wheel controls without a harness, but I can't seem find out if the general stock harness will plug directly into the eclipse unit without an intermediate harness.

From past forum posts..it looks like jbl owners WILL have to get the harness, and non jbl owners have been able to completely plug and play older units like the avn5500.

Crutchfield.com tells me to buy a harness when I "outfit my car" on their website.

Does anyone have any input that can clear up my curiosity?

yup, you are correct. jbl owners will need a harness, non-jbl owners can just plug and play. i have the AVN6600, so i know for sure that the AVN6620 will plug and play as well.

Can any of you post pictures of your head unit installed in your gen 5. I keep looking at my stock unit and I just want to see what it will look like. Thanks

I'll put up the pics in about a week when the dash kit comes in. Everything including every accessory (parrot kit, ipod stuff) that I've ever plugged into the stock headunit fits into the eclipse unit perfectly.

Even though there's a gap right now...it has a very clean OEM look to it.
