5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I did do the search, I did check my warranty book, I did see the Fault code and what it means. But I couldn't find anywhere linking the Fault code to the warranty. And I can't find the thing the fault code mention mention in the warranty.
So... Can someone spoon feed me and point me where I can find the list of Fault code and the warranty that it might be cover under? Especially the Powertrain warranty.
The two code I get right now are:
P0022 -- "A" Camshaft Position timing over-retarded (Bank 2)
Exactly.. not saying anything about Ignition nor camshaft. Unless it's apart of one of those which I don't know.
Camshaft is definitely part of Engine. Don't know if you could argue about ignition (is that technically a separate system). Still, all of it sounds like Powertrain to me.
Go to the dealer and have 'em fix it under warranty, just make sure to ask if it's covered under warranty and don't say too much more.
OMG... Freakin stupid me cleared the Fault code see if it come back.. so the check engine came back but I am not sure if the P0022 code did come back too. So I took it to the dealer and now they want to charge me $260 (total) to fix the Ignition coil and they refuse to check for the P0022 Fault code.
Else they want to charge me $160 for the checking. ARrrrrr
No cost with a Toyota Platinum extended warranty....................
Thanks..
In about 2 years my car would reach 100K. And am I right that it exclude the parts that are more likely to go bad?
I just don't want to make the same mistake when I bought the warranty from Sears awhile back. Paid $2K for the warranty and when the handle of the fridge that warranty suppose to cover turn out to be 'cosmetic' and they refuse to cover it. Asked them to replace with whatever handle because the old one broke. I end up getting partial of that warranty back to buy a new fridge.
