There is about 150 ms delay for electronic throttle control that assumes in closed loop control. When you floor the gas pedal, the system becomes opened loop ( to eliminate the overshoot or undershoot), and the delay would be much longer !

Holy crap...the weather was alittle warmer today and so my dad and I popped the hood to take a closer look at what they did. Not only did they replace the throttle body, but they replaced the intake plenum too. Brand spanking new shiney hunk of metal. I'm not even exactly sure why they replaced it. Maybe it was cracked or something?! I guess this is bittersweet. If this had happened after the warranty period, we would have been stuck with a $2K repair bill

As for drive-by-wire systems..there is a noticable lag between them. My Gen3 and Gen4 respond instantaniously when you floor it whereas the Gen5 hesitates.
