Gen6 Steering wheel shakes when braking at 60+MPH

Just recently noticed that the steering wheel shakes harder and harder as the day goes on ( when I’m braking to get off highway) .
I just want to make sure that this is not normal before I take it to the dealership for a test drive and repair.

No one else has this problem, correct?

Thanks

alot. search pls.
your rotors are warp due to over tighting on the lug nuts on the wheels.
you'll need to reface/resurface your rotors in front.

How many Km's? Original brakes? Only when braking from a fast speed? Hard braking ? light braking? Happens all the time? Does the brake pedal pulsate?

Common we need more info. From your description my guess is that...

your washer fluid is low which makes the one side a bit lighter therefore changing the equilibrium of the car having one side with more weight on it therefore causing a vibration because the car is out of equilibrium and if you keep this up the shaking might wear out your muffler bearings sooner.

well about 2 months ago i was in a car accident and the insurace com replaced my front passenger rim/tire. this was bc i was pushed into a curb which was about 3/4 of a foot high and i hit it going about 25mph. the car was not towd from the scene and after the car was fixed a wheel alignment was done. the shaking of the steering wheel has happened since the replacment of the rim/tire.

the tire was replaced to the same tire the car camr with Michellen ( i thnk that how you spell the brand)

yes original brakes, and only when braking at high speeds to exit highway or to slow down bc raidar detector goes off. medium to hard brake. hmm brake part pulsate? i would say no. i can take a video and put it on youtube if you would like

this problem never happened prior to the accident.

btw i dont think its thesame problem as:
I'm having vibration at highway speeds

correct me if im wrong.

did they check your suspension after they change the wheels? its either the suspension parts, strut arms etc.. or your rotors.

but the extra info sure did help. Most people (including myself) would probably think it would be warped rotors. Im not saying it isn't since it still could be but there are many more factors that could be affecting it. Since you say your brake pedal does not pulsate than it kind of sounds like it might not be warped rotors. I think you should go get your two front rotors machined (should be pretty cheap) then come back to us to let us know if its fixed the problem or not. Other than that I dont have a clue

The note that it gets worse as the day goes on is a clue that it's more suspension (running gear) related. Now here's where it gets tricky, finding the problem. Best advice is that it is not normal at all, and it should be taken to a qualified shop.

Checking and adjusting the alignment is one thing, and seeing the whole picture is completely another. I'd also contact your insurance company, since they apparently paid for the "repair" when the trouble started.

I could go into alot of what if's, but the simple truth is that it could be a number of things. Take the time to find a good shop, and get them informed on what's going on. Follow through on it and keep your insurance company informed because your car has not been fully repaired.

Hope this helps some and sorry for your trouble - crashes stink!
