Newbie help - 20 mm rear sway bar?

This is for my 2003 camry xle which all stock till date.

I came across a 20 mm WhitLine Rear sway bar and seems a good deal.

Just that is is 20 mm thick. If I am right, that's an additional full 4 mm more than the stock RSB thickness.

Is this too thick? to cause any sort of trouble? Will the stock brackets take this?

Thx

i have the whiteline bar on my 2005. It fits perfectly. Just make sure you grease it VERY well or you will be hearing a lot of creaks

ok thx

When I read somewhere on the web, there was a comment saying too thick a sway bar will cause over (or was it under?) steer.

Since the Camry is a front wheel drive car, it already has a lot of understeer. The rear sway bar helps stabilize the rear end of the car which keeps it flatter around the corners, which inhibits oversteer, but it definitely will not be too much

So I can get a Whiteline rear swaybar for 135 shipped. Just curious if this is a good deal.?

I hope this would give better overall handling for the camry esp when turning.

Will a thicker rear sway bar, reduce wet traction?

is it new? i suppose if its new, its a good price... another 30-40 you can get a TRD one with the different settings. As for handling, you will definitely feel the difference right away. Wet traction is mostly dependent on your tires, but the rsb will help keep the car flatter

My whiteline swaybar should be here today. I hope I can install it myself crawling under

What grease should I use?

I don't want to buy a whole can of it, since I'll just need some. Can I get a small packet at autozone or someplace.

I got my whiteline RSB today. Incuded were two yellow bushings and a packet of grease.

I slid the bushings over the bar. It was tight, ad to put a drop of water to make it go over the bar.

Question:
Should I grease the inner side of the bushing too (i.e. between the bar & bushing)? OR just apply grease over the bushing when installing?

here is a pic.

The 20 mm bar is solid! wonder how on earth this twists under torsion
