Dealer Unable to Program Key Fobs

I have a 2003 Camry and the key fob stopped working. I replaced the battery and it still did not work so i bought two , OCM, off ebay. I was unable to get them to program so I went to the dealer and they two were unable to program. They are telling me we need to replace a computer then they can program my key fobs. What computer is it? The ECU or the ECM?

I would try programming it again.. When i got my 05, i ended up having to program my key fobs myself because the dealership couldnt do it. When it says wait 1 second, make sure you count, "1 mississippi". It makes a difference.

Believe when I say we have tried until we are blue in the face. If the dealership cant do it then the problem must be more serious then I can over come.

Ouch! Just an average Joe trying to keep my expenses down. So much for a kinder gentler nation! This all started when the original one quit working. I bought two OEM's off ebay. When I went to the dealer they said they could not get the computer, ECM or ECV" to respond. They never did say their was something wrong with the FOB's. Just curious if any one on this forum has been down this road.

I bought one of those fobs off eBay and it works just fine, so not everything is JUNK as the poster above you thinks.

It took several times of trying, to finally get it right. It can be done.

I am going in another direction. All I really want restored is the key-less entry. For a couple of hundred dollars I will have an after market, Viper, installed. Problem solved for hundreds of dollars less then my local dealership was going to charge me.

Your dealers an idiot. You have too many FOBS programmed into the computer already. Go ask them to erase them, and THEN program it.
