5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I saw a current gen Camry the other day at a rest stop. It was the desert sand mica color (not 2 tone), but it had a black soft top that said Limited Edition on it. I am positive it said Camry LE (not Hybrid) and it was a 4 door. I did not see anything on here or the Toyota site about a current gen Carmy LE limited edition. I did not have my cell on me or I would have taken a pic, anyone know anything about it?

This was mentioned before in the forums. I think there is a picture as well. You mean something from a Lincoln Town Car in the 90's?
The pic was missing, but it sounds like what I saw. I guess the top could have just been fabric, and a convertible wannabe, but they were right in that thread, it sure did look ugly.
They're dealer add ons. They bump up a bare-bones LE by adding leather, wood trim, that soft top crap, sun roof(all aftermarket)and keep the stock rims with hubcaps. Make people think its better then an XLE for the same price and fool so many people.

We called them "mock tops" back in the day. They've been around forever, seen them on everything from 60's camaros to 80 oldsmobiles. Mostly seems they are coupled with wire daytona type wheels around here if you see it on a newer car.
...my dealer in Florida has always one of them for sell: Soft top, SET body kit, 18" BBS style wheels, golden emblems or chrome add-ons all around and called limited edition. I think these are SET specials. They also have always a Avalon with the SET kit, 18" rims etc which actually looks pretty nice.
those cars a garbage, TRD nailed it on the head its just the dealer BSing buyers into believing they have something special. You want a limited edition camry? well if its not a TRD Camry which i havent seen they just take your camry and customize it thats limted edition to just you.
