Gen6 08 camry oil filter losen

my car is in my drive way and im doing an oil change.
could someone tell me which way i need to turn the oil filter to losen it??

the nut screw turn counter clock wise to losen and drain the oil but i can get the oil filter off but turning it the same way

( i do know that the oil filter come robo tight from the factor, so please don tell me this. this is my 5th oild change that i have done and i did not tighten the filer this thight. i fdont know what happened.. any tips for gettting it off??

local auto parts store and get the correct size filter wrench. if you're unsure about which will fit buy a few and return the ones that don't work.

If you are talking about the 4 cylinder 2AZ engine (not the V6) I use this filter with a 3/8 socket and a 6 inch extension. It makes short work of that filter.

Assuming that the replacement is identical to the one on the car, take the replacement with you to the store and get a properly sized tool, whether it is one that grabs the bottom or wraps around the canister and tightens as you turn. Nothing magical about this, just elbow grease. Remember, righty tighty,lefty loosey. Sometimes working on a cooled engine helps because the parts have had a chance on contract a bit.
